Good day Rodbolt,<br /><br />How are you doing today. Well I am getting ready to change out my water pump on my 1989 Evinrude SPL 88 Horsepower V-4. I plan on replacing it on the 23 April. Right now I am studying for my upgrade training test for the Air Force on the 19 April then after that that first weekend is when I am going to do the thermostat and the water pump. You said when I get ready to do it you would give me your phone number and I was wondering If I could recieve it. I might have some questions on removal. Hello again Rodbolt,<br /><br />I have a Seloc manual and have read it over and over again. I did find the shift rod adjustment. However, there is no step by step procedure for removing the shift rod. Do you have a manual for this motor Evinrude 88 horsepower SPL 1989 V-4 model # E88MSLCER. If you do can you e-mail me the shift rod removal pictures or instructions. I know you said remove the pin and push in, but I was wondering if I could see a copy of it to be sure we are thinking of the same thing or we aren't doing to different types of shift rod removal.
