Hi Rodbolt,

You had mentioned the cowl quick connect and I want to be sure I am understanding what you meant. You said if I was still using it then be aware of the O ring swell on the engine side.I looked at my fuel entry from the 10 micron and I have a quick connect on the tank side of the hose where it clicks onto the quick connect on the motor on the outside. That part looks like it is permanant from the factory because i do not see any way the take it out.Is there? The motor side of that quick connect is just a fitting. From there a hose runs to the fuel filter right before the pumps.Does that sound right or is that the quick connect you are saying should be eliminated. And if so, how do I get it out?

Re: Rodbolt

yep, you understand.
look for a 10mm hex bolt that releases the fitting from the cowl. either replace it or run the line throgh it securing the line so it cannot move or chafe and to dissallow water intrusion.
but that oring can be a motor killer.
the motor side of that quick connect has a non servicable oring and your motor was not designed for ethanol fuels.

Re: Rodbolt

Ten Four to Rodbolt and Cousinable.Rodbolt, I saw the 10mm on the inside of the bottom cowl and thought that may release it but it looked like it was just a bracket bolted there to secure some wiring, thanks I will try to knock it out today.I am putting the carbs together again after the fourth cleaning today and snapped two heads off the really small jets on the butterfly side.Do not know if they are,but guessing they are air jets by the location of them.I noticed one has a 60 and the other is different but cannot read it due to damage.Looked on the Yamaha site and can't locate that part.Any advice? Also, you mentioned different jets for the port and starboard, are these the ones?Or is that something else?
