I just bought a new boat ( 1st ever ) . It is a 1448 MV alumacraft. I have a 25 merc jet for power. I have taken just about everyones word to help in this process and so far feel like I am doing well. Until I got to the trailer. I went with a cheap new one. I am not sure the exact size, but pretty sure it is close to the smallest you could get for my boat. On suggestion I bought some trailer guides. Instead of the long 2x4 type I got the roller guides ( great deal and I like the idea and the look better.) Now my buddys telling me they suck. Can someone shed some light cuz I reviewed these, and guy love them. Plus my buddy is one of those guys, if he doesn't have it, he doesn't like it. With my little aluminum riveted 14' I can't see adjusting the boat to be that tough and I am hoping the guides I got will get me in and out of the water great . I can adjust before I strap down.

I think you answered your own question: "... my buddy is one of those guys, if he doesn't have it, he doesn't like it. ". Rollers are great, I wish I had them on my trailer. Ask your buddy why they "suck".

Agreed! You are questioning a purchase before you've tried it. It may turn out they aren't what you need but then again you may wonder how you got along without them. Be your own boss.

Ayuh,....

The only problem I've ever had with guides like those are,....
The ramps I use are Too Deep,+ the guides are underwater,+ Useless,....
'Cause they're Under the boat, not beside it......

Hey gasman;

They work fine. I have two boats on trailers and they are bunk style (which are fine as well) i have buddies that have rollers and they work well. The only thing i would suggest is the amber colored poly rollers. I have seen the black one start breaking down and then they may scuff the hull. Looks like when someone leaves black marks on the floor in your kitchen.:D

Thanks for th info . I was just concerned cuz I am trying to make the best purchases I can. And nothing sucks more than you tell someone you bought something, and they say it's a piece of sh**. One more thing I am looking for good battery operated universal navigation lights. All the one for sale around here look like cheap flashlights, any suggestions?

Thanks again
