Just bought a 1989 2157 Carver with only 400hrs on it! Mint condition!
My issue is the prop. Second day on the water the prop apparently is slipping. Was cruising and lost speed. Prop appears to have lost grip. We got back to the dock at 2mph and an hour later. Any guesses?

Also was told about the ballistic props. Whats the best prop for this heavy-little boat? Mostly crusing, butskiing and wakeboards will happen.

Welcome!
The hub in your prop is shot.Have it rehubbed at a prop shop.They can tell you the prop size and where to find the numbers. Take it out and test it.Tell us your prop size,the present max rpm and speed,engine size.
and outdrive if so equipped. Wouldn't hurt to read the stickies at the top of the page.Also the helps at the top of the prop store page.
