After I got home from the lake I realized my boat was on the trailer crooked and one of the V's is sitting on a trailer pad. Should I go back tomorrow and fix this or can it wait till the weekend?

I don't have an answer for you but I'm interested to see what others say- I've been in your same shoes and have stopped on the ramp while pulling out to be sure its not sitting on one of the ribs/steps only to back it into the water and shift it over.

Yeah, I usually check it. Not sure why I didn't this time. I noticed it crooked but didn't really closely check until I got home and noticed one of the Vs (not sure what they are actually called) was sitting on a trailer pad. I am just afraid it might crack the fiberglass, warp the fiberglass or warp the pad.

what size boat? Assuming it isn't something massive sitting on a triple axle, try this... Get a buddy or two, hitch up your trailer to a vehicle, and then start pushing on the side of the boat where it needs to move. If you guys get in rhythm with the sidewall flex in the tires, you can usually move a boat over fairly easily.

The other thing that works well is a regular old garage jack. Put some lumber under the keel, and then raise it just enough to move it over.

the "v" is called a speed strake.....or just a strake.
the pads, are called bunks.

i would get it off the strake as soon as you can......why risk anything
the boat will have foam under the strake. the problem will be in the transportation of the boat.
if you have a floor jack.....you can move the hull to the correct positition with out driving it over bumpy roads.

if you can get a couple of guys, and just lift the hull on to the bunks that will save the trip to the lake.

in direct answer....it usually wont hurt....but there are too many factors in each individual hull that it is hard to say if crazing will occur.

the age old argument of "it happens to me all the time.....and it aint never hurt my boat" does not apply in this case, due to production line inconsistencies

Used my roomy's floor jack, a board and a towel. Lifted it up a couple times and rocked it in place. Thanks for the help.
