picked up an anchor rope around the prop today.

I'm thinking everything is ok but I have one concern...

Is there suppose to be a gasket or seal or anything in this gap?

I can't say I've ever studied the prop close enough to recognize if anything is missing or hurt.

Anything I should be checking before I drop the boat back at the marina?

Thanks,

No, there is not a gasket or seal that could have been damaged. As long as you didn't experience any vibes or rough running, your OK!

Brush up on your picture taking! To much light.

pic looks fine to me.

The gap looks normal, at least, thats how mine looks. Does the prop spin freely by hand when in neutral? If so, and if it seems to run ok with no out of the ordinary cavitation...i'd say you are ok.

cell phone pic but thanks for your photography lesson.

The props seems to be fine. Everything seems to be running fine...no vibes.

I just thought I'd ask to make sure before I drop it back in the lake tomorrow night.

Thanks again for the info.

Pic looks ok, if your worried about it you can pull the lower screw on your gear casing and check the gear oil for water. Usually fishing line around the prop is the usual suspect for that as it damages the prop shatft seals. Just make sure you top it back off with oil if you check it.

I agree, looks fine, I picked up a rope once, still attached to a stuck anchor. When I cut the rope there was a LOUD thunk as the boat lunged about 6" up. Boat and drive were fine. Drives are pretty tough just keep 'em full of oil and lubricated.

Thats why anchor lines need to be on Nylon line. Some bone heads put them on synthetic. Picked one up on lake erie and i thought a fish was chaseing me. I would slow down and so would it. took a look down at the drive and luckly it was caught on the skeg. colud you imagine hooking the anchor.
