I have an '88 Bayliner Bass Trophy. It's ugly but it was free. Today I removed the bilge pump to replace. When I took the pump out of the stern, there was moisture in the wood of the stern. The wood in the bottom of the hole for the bilge is mushy and rotten. On the top side of the hole it is still firm. Is this serious? Is there something I can do to patch/repair the little bit of rot or is it a bigger project? Honestly, if it is a bigger deal, I may not do it. It is hard to spend too much time and money on a boat this old. Any ideas or info is hugely appreciated.
