I removed the rotary steering cable at the helm on my 1997 Crestliner Sport fish. When I reinstall it is there a certain position that the steering wheel needs to be at before I start feeding the cable back in? Thanks

The steering wheel position is one of ascetics. On a destroyer wheel or other steering wheel that does not have a "straight" position, it does not matter. But if you have one of the steering wheels that does, say a three spoke steering wheel, you can try to make it orient straight when the boat tracks straight. On the NFB steering systems, that is tricky as they use steering wheel movement to lock and unlock the steering mechanism.

I gave up caring about where the Wheel pointed, back in about 1972, when I was 12

I am trying to get the wheel straight on my speedboat. I need to look good for the audience, however, with the NFB system it is hard.

Buy a Wheel with about 7 or 9 Spokes. It would look fine however it sits
