I am considering buying a 1995 Sea Doo jet boat that is powered with twin 85 hp Rotax motors. What should I be concerned with regarding these motors. Are they expensive to work on? What troubles are they prone to experience? Thank you for any helpful information.

Actually I have one of these. Speedster. One thing to check. Crank one engine at a time and see if it smokes ALOT like a smoke screen. They have a problem with the rotory valves seals. If too much oil leaks buy these seals during "no use" it can hydroloc the engine. Depends on which seal.

Anyway do make sure you do a "seatrial". These boats SUCK FUEL. And you MUST use Seadoo Oil and NOT TCW III like most watercooled engines.
Its a blast to drive but it does bounce with a full load onboard (needs trim tabs).

To ask more questions go here: web page
