That's the kind of repair that gets bigger once you're in there. When you've taken it apart you'll likely find other work that needs to be done. I doubt you'll be able to just patch a place or two and replace the carpet - more likely you'll have to replace the entire floor making new carpet or other floor covering necessary. If you're in luck you won't have rotten stringers beneath the floor etc. There are tons of posts on the topic, some with photos so you'll have some idea what you're getting into before you get started.<br /><br />I started a post yesterday looking for information on flooring materials that won't deteriorate over time (among other things). I'm hoping to refloor my boat just once, but I don't know what materials are suitable when considering weight and expense. With maintenance free "lumber" available I think there must be something better to use than plywood.<br /><br />Good luck with it.
