After installing a US Robotics Broad Band/Modem router with firewall the Windows firewall stopped logging intrusion attempts. I figured it was because the router was keeping them out. Then about 4 days ago Windows firewall starts logging unrequested access attempts. So I put any ISP listed as unrequested on the Banned Isp list. Also ran a virus scan and found new adware in my son's temprorary internet files folder.

I want to know how these sites get past the modem router firewall? Is it during the time that a user is on their site? An example is myspace.com After banning an urequested access attempt and putting that ISP on the banned list, myspace.com is no longer accessable. So they are the culprit. If my kid is on their site, then that site can get past the router firewall because its being directly communicated with? I can't think of any other way, unless the site knows how to get past the router.
