While running at about 48-4900 RPM, the port engine on my 200 occean pro cut back. I then throttled back the starboard so they each ran fine at 4400 RPM. On the way home I tried to Run the port to match the starboard at 5K even and it would not get there. The throttle on the port side lever ran 3 inches past the starboard throttle? It idled fine pcked up from 0-4500 RPM very well. I fear cylinder problems but theis sounds more like stator or plug wire/fouled plug. I'm curious about cable stretch? Is this possible as well?

Re: RPM DROP while running

Welcome Midnight Run!

Sounds more like your dropping a cylinder...spark wise that is. But...just to be on the safe side, take compression readings and check the spark on each cylinder. Might be ya' just lost an ignition coil. Also, please post your year or model number...helps in figuring out what's going on.

Re: RPM DROP while running

OBJ,
I've changed the plugs, compression checked OK on all cylinders and ran the motor again and its still*3--400 RPM off the starboard motor when at wide open throttle. Its improved by 400 RPMs since the incident. I have 1998 Johnson 200 Ocean PRO's. What next?
