Probably a loose wire or connector.

Could be the little selector switch if it has one.

Oh yea the ghost electrons at it again. Lots of circuits have them. And when they decide to work, they work, but when they decide to stop working that also stop. The only way to get ghost electrons out of the circuit is to remove and clean every connection to bright shiny metal and tighten them tightly again. That seem to work a lot of times to remove those ghost electrons. But be forewarned about the factory installed smoke as well. If ever that factory installed smoke ever gets out, the circuit is usually gone. Then you have to buy another factory installed smoke unit again. Just some unless info :facepalm:

In boating, one should also expect a bit higher level of internal phantasma as well....
