RPM not working after changing rectifer?

The miss I asked about in the 115 has been solved, a bad plug! We changed the rec. and now the RPM is not working? Also the trim works fine at all switches while idling but will not trim up while under pressure? What have I done now? 1980 115 6cyl on a 275 Ranger

At least on my motor (50hp) when the rectifiers is blown, the tach won't work. The motor will run off the battery for a while but won't charge. Have you put a voltmeter on it when running to see if it's charging?<br /><br />Jerry
