I have a V4 Evinrude, 115 HP 2-stroke, 1983, just got it on the water. Sounds like it runs smoothly and continuously, but I'm topping out at 2100 RPM under load. When just on warm-up lever I'm getting higher than that. Before getting on the water I had replaced fuel pump and cleaned all carbs. I pulled the plugs after running, and both the starboard side plugs are oily / sticky. The portside plugs look great. I'm not sure how the carbs rout to the cylinders, if the top carb sends to the top two cylinders or if it's split port / starboard, so that could tell me if it's a carb issue or something else. I have not yet checked for good spark on the starboard side, but that's next. Any thoughts / insight would be appreciated!
