I have a 1991 Mariner 40 <br />What is the correct RPM's I should turn???<br />Jimmy

5000 - 5500 rpm at full throttle with a light load in the boat.<br /><br />The closer to 5500 the better the hole shot.<br /><br />I just read your other post also.<br />You can calculate the correct prop size to buy, based on your current prop size and the wide open throttle (wot) rpms you are achieving.<br /><br />Decreasing the pitch by 1", will increase your rpm by approximately 175-200.
