rub rail end cap thing

My boat is an older 14.5 foot steury, and I'm missing the aluminum cap on the left side of the stern. You know....the rub rail comes around and ends at the corner, then there's a piece of aluminum that goes on the stern from the corner to the splashwell and ends nicely. I'll post a pic later if I can...

So, I'm missing the one side. What are my options?

1) Find a metal shop and have them craft a mirror image of the one I have? Probably big bucks.

2) Some other alternative rub rail cap thing or aluminum piece?

3) Begin the long search for a similar piece?

Thoughts?

I see lots of rub rails, but maybe I'm just not seeing it.

Here's the piece from the right side in the picture. Could the rub rail bend around that corner and terminate at the splash well? I'm confused.....

I am looking for a similar piece for the port side of my 1978 14" Sylvan Sportster. Did you ever have any luck sourcing this trip piece? I'm having trouble describing it and, thus, I am having great difficulty trying to search for it.
