Rub Rail removal???

I am removing the rub rail and it has rivetts. All I know is to drill the head off. I have concerns about using a drill on the heads and not gowing through the rub rail. When I put the rub rail back on, can I use screws?

Ayuh,... If they're 1/8" rivets, drill 'em out with a 1/8" drill bit...

If they're 3/16", use that drill bit...

I'd use more rivets, 'n not screws myself...
