Took prop off today to replace impeller and found a lot of small pieces of rubber on the shaft. After looking at the prop I see where the rubber hub? has started to come apart. Can the hub be repaired or will I need a new prop? Thanks

Need a model #. They can be rehubbed. Will need to find a prop shop to do the work. Was the backside of the hub chewed up if it was is the thrust washer on it.

The cost of rehubbing might not be that much cheaper than a new prop or worth it unless the prop is pristine.

I have had a few of my volvo penta DP props rehubbed. General Propeller in Bradenton Florida does a lot of mail in hub repair work. most prop shops no longer re-hub as most props now have replaceable hubs.

the cost to rehub is about $86 if memory serves. the cost of a new 15hp prop is less than that
