I want to run my 1987 Mercruiser 260HP 350 V8 on a 6 gallon remote gas tank. The gas tank is from my Jon boat that hooks up to my force 9.9HP.
The gas in the boat now is bad (5-6 years old). I want to hook my 6gal tank up to it to run fresh gasoline through it. I disconnected the fuel line from the tank and plugged the end of it. That line goes directly to the fuel/water separator. Can I hook up the tank hose their? Also, will it be able to draw gas from the tank?
I put fresh gasoline in the 6 gal tank, seafoam, & marine grade stabil in also. The tank has a hand syphon in the gas line.
I'm waiting till spring to drain the boats gas tank.

That should work. To make it easier pump the bulb up before you crank it over. So long as the tank vent allows enough air into the tank as the full is drawn out there should be no issue. Six gallons won't get you very far with the 350.

Ayuh,...I Agree,... Hook up yer remote to the In-comin' fuel barb on the fuel filter housin' will work just fine,...

Is yer remote tank a 3/8" line,..?? That's what ya need to hook to the fuel filter housin',...
Some ole outboards use 5/16" or 1/4",...
