ive always wondered how long could you run a outboard motor in a 55 gallon drum because I know the circulation Is not as good and the water tends to get oiliey
any thoughts on this subject would be nice

You can run it until the water gets hot. Of course, that will take a long time. Oil build up is not an issue. Circulation is fine if the barrel water level is above the waterpump impeller.
