Running at 50% power

So I finally got my 92 sea ray in the water yesterday with a 92 Mercury Black max 135HP. Works great till I push it to full throttle, then it will throttle up for about 2 seconds and then drop to about 50-75% power. I was getting beeping so I added some oil and the beeping stopped. We recently removed the power head and lower unit for maintinence. When I turn the key to start it, it gives me 3 beeps: Beep....Beep.Beep, but from what I recall it has always done that. Any ideas? is there a maint. reset button on these things?

Thanks for the link. Reading that I know we filled up the main oil tank and it stopped the continuous beep. However the reserve tank is empty because we were only going out for a few minutes. Could that cause it to drop to half power? I looked in the book I got and it says 3 beeps when turning the key to on means a fault in the last time the motor ran. Guess I should have been more specific. It beeps only when I turn the key to the on position, not when I start the engine, doesn't beep at all then, just runs like a fat horse when I wanna go up on plane.
