So everytime before I head out to the Lake I run the Boat on the Muffs for a few minutes. Gives me a Chance to do a Quick check of the Gauges and the condition of the battery. During the Summer I'm out there at 5:30am doing this. Last time was Yesterday.

I havent had any complaints from my neighbor but I fear its coming. Am I rude doing this? If I do get a compaint shall I just ignore it? Its not a loud Jet Boat or anything.

Thoughts.

5:30a is rude. Check it the night before.

I do the same thing but the night before heading out.
My V-6 outboard is really loud running on the muffs.

Run it,test everything and leave a 2 amp charger on it over night...;)

Although I personally do not see the need to do this elaborate of a check every time, I do not think it rude. It is no different than firing up the Harley at 5:30 to go to work.

I have fear going to the lake and something doesn't work. Yes I have people in the neighborhood that I hear early morning Harley rumble.

It's rude. If someone ran their leaf blower outside your window at 5 a.m. and woke you up, would it upset you?

In AZ, its not rude. Since Arizonans don't change their clocks in the summer, its already light outside by 4:30 AM!

How close are you to the neighbors (distance and friends wise)? The fact that no one has complained yet may be a good sign. But, in my view, if the houses are close, it may not be rude but it could be inconsiderate. At least you are thinking about it. Oh, and thanks for not buying next to me LOL! Just teasing.

Agree with that! They would be pulling that leaf blower out of a very dark place!...:D

The houses are spaced apart like any normal Suburb time community. I'm on a corner lot so I have a neigbor on the left. Yes I'm thinking about only doing the night before so that was why I posted this.

Thanks for the comments.

Why not just ask your neighbors if it bothers them. If not, you are good.

Personally I would not do it. I don't cut the lawn till 9am on weekend.

Why not invest the $100 to put an in boat charger in the boat and keep it plugged in when you are at home. You won't be wondering about the condition of your batteries any longer and you'll keep peace with the neighbors.

True!

Oh Btw waiting to mow the Grass until 9am is not going to work in AZ during the Summer. Its 100+ Degree by that time. More like 7:00am mowing.

I agree with the poster who said to ask the neighbors. Nothing is worse than you feeling guilty, and your neighbors doing a slow boil over your behavior. If they honestly answer that you are bothering them, then show some respect and don't make the noise. If they say that it doesn't bother them, you're essentially off the hook- they had a chance to be honest and they either were or decided to not say anything, but you did give them a chance.
Around here, you have to be quiet till 7:00- if you disturb prior to then, it's possibly the local cops may pay a visit.

I do wonder I could be disturbing the house in front of us across the Street. I think I might take the advise to run it at night and trickle Charge.

Thank you.
