Ok i would like to tune this old 87 454 mag with a tbolt 4 ingtion system.....i am going to decarbon it with water..anyone have any input on what to look for on a older engine...never had a tbolt apart timing should be a breeze...

Now one thing the new drive is still in the mail so can i just hook up a garden hose to the inlet and get it going..It also has a factory self contained cooling system.

that would work, 2500 rpm works best with water

That's rpm @ 2500....Is it possible to blow enough crud out of the system rust flakes carbon i could plug up the carb in someway..aka vacum??? If it's possible i will somehow manage to to do it.

I never clogged a carb de-carbonizing with water, pour it in slowly at that rpm and you`ll be fine.

Ayuh,... The Crud is beyond the carb,.... yer pourin' the water down it's throat, into the intake,....

The Cruds goin' out the tailpipes,...

2500 rpms is Plenty fast enough,... 1500/ 2 grand will work,...

Pour fast enough to slightly labor the motor, but not so fast as to stall it,...

A soda bottle is Plenty,.... 12oz....
