Hello it's me again,
I'm still working on my 1976 model 55 hp Johnson. It only runs on one cylinder. I ckecked the plug, and it's good but there's no spark. Could it be the coil and if so, how do you check it.
Thanks in advance,
JoeP

Hi, The easiest way to check a coil is to remove the coils and swap them. If the problem moves with the coils, suspect the bad coil, If the problem stays with that cylinder, the pack might be bad.

No need to remove the coils, just swap the wires. The little plug connectors just down the line. I would suspect a bad coil.
