been running in barrel and have been letting it run for awhile. water is hot like didn't burn me but hotter than I really want to put my hand in. is this normal? still have a miss occasionally, well every 3 or 4 seconds, seems if I backout low idle some it helps, could my miss just be something like carbon build up, or low octane? new plugs, coils, wires, points, synced, rebuilt carb, new fuel lines. any help appreciated, thanks, ron

Hard to fine tune in a test barrel. May be a bit lean, as when you backed it out it smoothed out. But final tune on the water.

BTW, the water will get hot, especially in summer and if the barrel is small. The water just keeps getting recycled, getting hotter and hotter.

Let the hose run and barrel overflow if you must run it awhile. But there really isn't that much reason to do so.

i personally wouldnt let the water get above 25c or 80f. in a barrel the water also gets "aerated", which takes away some of its cooling power. and besides, how many places can you boat where the water is above 80f? ( plz no comments from the floridians!! lol)

Surprisingly the water in my lake was at 81 a few weeks ago according to the fish finder. Have never seen it quite so high. Needless to say, the fish were NOT biting.

That kinda' sounds like lean sneeze. Is it possible air is leaking in past a gasket or a carb butterfly shaft isn't sealed well?

Well.... I've seen water temperature in the mid 90's here. Needless to say the fish weren't exactly in the mood for playing.
