Would water get into the oil if the block was cracked while running on muffs. I ran my boat for about 20 minutes today and the oil appears as clean as ever. I was paranoid this past winter due to the extreme cold we had. The boat seemed to run great. My only concern is when does the thermostat open to allow water into the manifolds? The hoses to the manifolds and the one to the ps cooler remained fairly cool compared to the main lines in the block and water pump. My gauge reached about 190 and it would rise and fall with slight engine speed increase and decrease.
