ok well the story is alittle weird but i had an outboard 9.5 on an engine stand without the lower unit on.i was in the house and 1 of my freinds started in and ran it for maybe a min ,he installed my new carb and thought it was ok to run it. the head was hot to touch.what kinda damage might have been done if any?he did reave it a little before i ran out there to shut it off.

If it was only run for a minute or less, chances are nothing got too hot. With the l.unit off the hot exhaust could escape a little quicker also. If you didnt see any smoke and didnt melt any plastic or wires around the cylinder head, you are probably OK. Ya might do a comp. test just to be sure.<br /><br />Pat
