runs well but sudden 3000 rpm maximum

1 fuel bulb firm 2 fuel filter clean 3 vented 4 switched plugs 5 drained carb bowls 6 checked for water 7 checked carb and timing linkages. Assume its one high speed jet blocked or its electrical. 1988 FORCE 125 with the baby blue ignition coils.<br />Any insight guys? <br /><br />------------------

sounds like your running on 3 cyl. not 4.<br />Start with the ing spark.<br /><br />corm

Being primetime weather wise I took it to the shop. They passed me right away since my winter storage is with them. #1 wasn't firing. Put used trigger {CD unit}. Still not firing. Went to stator. Its 's OK.<br />I think he burned the used trigger by leaving the key on. Replace trigger & it works!<br />Son said he had found a breaking white wire that may of caused the elec to backup in trigger. New plugs and floats raised a bit.<br />Parts $170, 5hrs labour under the hot sun $260, plus tax = $500. One day in and out. Back on the water @ 5pm. Oh yes grandfather worked on it too. I was parked beside two other boats both of which were head scratchers as well!<br /><br />------------------
