What is this Rust colored water dripping from the Bravo Three Outdrive Water inlets in my 2007 Mercruiser 350 MAG 300hp with only 110hrs ? Appears after I have pulled the boat out of the water and into the driveway. Only last just a few minutes and didn’t discover it until in had dried up . Engine runs great !

I currently have a client's boat here with a 2010 Bravo 3 with rust stains from the water inlets.. haven't worked out how it can get there yet.

Can't be from the manifold and elbows as the water exiting goes to either the exhaust reliefs or the prop hub. Can't be from the engine block because the water can't flow back passed the water pump.

So yes, a mystery.

I get that crap now and again when I forget to drain my block after a lake day, and leave the block full for a week or so. I don’t do it anymore, don’t really care for that obviously. Tech told me it’s nothing to really be worried about, and to make sure I drain the head and block after each trip...... ya know, like the silly manual states to do!

Resurrecting this post from the past as I have the same exact issue.

It's not clear from all the posts what the cause was. As the OP said, boat runs great.

Boat has 176 hrs.
