Randy,<br /><br />I recently inquired about SS brakes at a trailer repair shop and they said they work good. For one time. The first time you back them in the water they'll warp. I'd go with cast iron rotors. There are some more expensive materials out there, like bronze, but I don't know if they're worth it. The cast iron rotors I had (float on trailer) lasted for 4 seasons in salt water. I did wash them off after each use though. I'm just now replacing them with Kodiak brakes, which seem to be even better. Check out their web site. <br />And go with hydraulic for a boat trailer.<br />Good luck.<br /><br />Dave
