Someone posted this on another forum I belong to. Wisconsin doesn't give out addresses of s*x offenders in the area, but they will be starting in December of this year.<br /><br />Perhaps your state does. 6 near me and 1 listed twice.<br /><br />I have a question though. Dont get me wrong, i'm not defending anyone. There's a guy on the list near me that doesnt look like he's older than 18. He was charged with statutory rape. Now i've seen this happen when I was in high school. Two students, boyfriend and girlfriend for like 2 years, and the girls parents dont like the guy but she dates him anyway. 3 months after he turned 18 they pressed charges on him for statutory rape she is 16, two years younger. Does that really qualify him as a sex offender? <br />Seeing this young kid on the list within the radius of my house reminded me of that situation way back when. Is the kid I remember way back when going to be on one of these lists somewhere too?

Three arrested in a nearby town merely for having their porchlights turned on for Halloween. Nothing about whether they answered the door, just turning on the light. They shoulda gone out for the evening or something.<br /><br />Another nearby county had a mandatory lockup for registrants for a few hours Halloween evening - better for them to avoid any suspicion, and better for the community. Good idea I think.<br /><br />But my problem is, if they're such a danger to the community that they must be identified, they ougtta be locked up...and if they're not, leave 'em alone. Personally (and I have no science to back this up) I don't think a ********* will ever be rehabilitated.<br /><br />[the edited out word in the last sentence means "one who prefers underage people"]

I know a girl here,shes on the registar,she was 18 and started dating a 17 yearold boy the boys parents didnt like her and pressed charges on her.shes on the list picture and all.the boy and girl are married now and have 2 kids.but shes still on the list,theres got to be aline there somewere.<br /><br />I know of certain churches with members that actually condone the meeting of younger girls to older boys in different communitys.

there's a female on the list near me as well, but she's older and a lil scary looking . I think the 18 to 16 or 17 is a lil rediculas for statutory rape. How about at least a 5 year differance in age before it hits these registered offender lists. I'm not talking regular rape... just the statutory rape where parents take the boyfriends or girlfriends of their kids to court.

It's not a civil lawsuit - statutory rape is a crime - victims don't decide whether to prosecute, the DA does.<br /><br />But I agree there should be some kind of discretionary judgement involved as to whether they belong on a published offender list.<br /><br />You wouldn't want to risk letting a real perv get away on a technicality.

Unfortunately, Oregon does not currently publicize the registered sex offenders living within the state. Consequently, we are unable to provide any information about Oregon's sex offender population.

Connecticut's is really complete with photo and addresses conviction date, offences and stautue numbers date of last parole officer contact. I posted this before I found while scanning the sex offenders database 3 co-workers that are regitstered offenders one 1st degree rapist and 2nd degree sexual battery and one statutary rape. I e-mailed a co-worker and check out the site...well to make a long story short monday I went to work and the shop was a buzz with the news and someone printed the info out and put them under the bosses door and the director of operations door. A half hour later the Ct. State Police was in the shop doing interviews trying to find out who was responceable for it. In this state use of the site other than your personal information is a felony and they will arrest you, The cops were serious about it....No one was caught that day but be aware of the of it...
