I took my boat to do a prop test this morning. The boat idled fine and ran fine at slower speeds. But when
I tried to get it to plain out it lugged and would not plain. It is a 1991 Mariner 150 Mag II. I am having the carbs and fuel pump redone this week. (Had already had that scheduled.) The boat did set a bit before I got it. It fired right up and didn't miss at all going slow. The tach didn't work so I don't know at what rpm it started to lug at. having that fixed also I hope.
The Prop was a 21 Pitch three blade stainless so it shouldn't be the culprit. I am just fearing it is a stator or something else way expensive to fix. Any Ideas? in case the local guy comes up with nothing. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

Think your "fear" may be justified..................Plus if tha regulator is tha non workin' tach problem tha stator cost is small in comparison to tha water cooled reg. cost.................

Ok an update on the motor, I got a call tonight from the repair guy. The boat had some electrical issues, a bad fuel line and a missing vac. line. I pick it up tomorrow afternoon at a cost of $100. It is a big relief off my mind.
