saftey switch ?

i have a mercruiser 3.0 and there is a little switch on top of the valve cover ..called in the book safety switch...mine is broke and cant find a part no. to find a new one...any help would be appreciated

You might want to post a picture and circle the item your looking for. Are you looking at the circuit breaker by chance?

to anyone who reads this post... Don s sticky at the top of forum about "how the shift interrupt system works" explains it all....however if u have a mercruiser from what ive learned lookin online tonight...that chances are that your/my little switch that looks like a cheap nothing is no longer available...u have to buy a whole new set-up for round 100$
