Well guys, after picking up a 1969 starcraft SS from my buddy ($800) and finding this wonderful site full of information... My brother and I dove right in. ; ) We are pretty much done with the restore and splashed her today. After a few tweaks on the motor, she ran like a DREAM!! I'll go ahead and give you guys the details then the pics. We decided to go with 3/4 arauco plywood for the flooring. (3 sheets/$38 a sheet) VERY sturdy... Glad we went with 3/4 instead of 1/2. 2 coats us composites 635 thin epoxy resin on flooring and bow seats. Gluvit applied to all rivits/seams. Made the terrible mistake of mixing it all at once. Lol. I must have missed the warning on some of you guys threads. Anyways, got 95% coated before it turned hard as a brick. 5 sheets of blue foam cut and packed under the flooring. Primed bare metal with self etching primer. Most of the original paint was still intact so it was ruffed up and primed with rustoleum primer. Top coat ended up being rustoleum oil based enamel white and royal blue. I really liked the two tone white/blue on some of you guys restores. I also finished the decking with the rustoleum enamel with quickrete anti-skid additive. Very happy with how it turned out. I also applied an anti-skid coat to the top of the consoles, side pockets, bow seats, and splashwell. Well, enough with the jaw flappin for now and on to some pics! I only have pics up to the floor/foam process. I will post more soon and I look forward to you guys comments!
