Saltworthy Yamaha 115

[Yam115]

Anyone have info or experience w. the salt resistance of the components used in the 1997 series Yamaha 115's (not saltwater series) ? Any things I should look out for or upgrade if I start using in saltwater?

i think the shift shaft, but i'm not 100% on this

I've heard from the two biggest manufacturers now that the only difference between saltwater motors and those that don't say so is the say-so. Also the price and the sticker on the hood. I can't vouch for that specifically on your motor, but generally it has far more to do with marketing than production.
