I belive you can use parts from:
75 HP - 62 > 65
80 HP - 66 > 67
90 HP - 64 > 65

NOT 100 HP -66 > 68 ( bigger ++ )

I have just rebuild my lower unit , what was wrong with yours ?

Re: same gearcase?

when i was replacing the bearing for the drive pinion i must have dropped a pin down the hole without knowing.the reverse gear lost 1 tooth and the drive pinion lost part of one. it looks like one of the springs is a little stretched also.
i found the new parts locally but they are very expensive, gear $200 and pinion $268 so iwas hoping to use the 80hp gearcase for parts or replacment if it is in good enough shape.

The 100hp should bolt on as a complete unit though, the midsection of the engine is still the same. The 5 inch extention is different but should replace the one on the lower hp units.
