Sanding question

I put marine-tex on boat over the weekend. How do I sand just the marine-tex portion or keep sanding the surrounding area to a minimum.

do the best you can to take the top of the mound off, you will probly hit the surrounding areas some, when you get close to done switch to lighter grade paper maybe twice before done.
