My gear lube monitor bottle has a slow leak from the bottom fitting or wire penetration. I ordered part number 8M0075709 new in the box unopened. My current bottle has the hose barb pointing to the left when viewed from the front of the engine. The one I received has the hose barb pointing to the back of the bottle. I figured I just screwed up and ordered the wrong one but when I tried to look up what I need I keep coming up with the same part number and I am starting to think I received the wrong part in the box. No dealer here so I can’t just bring it in I have to order online so would like some input please🤦*♂️

Thanks!

I was thinking I had design 1. I have the rubber strap securing the bottle. Now I am really confused

On a side note, anyone had any luck repairing a leaking reservoir, I was think of cleaning with brakekleen and using some epoxy around the wires and fittings

achris So I am pretty convinced I got the wrong part in the right box, but hoping someone can convince me otherwise

Looks very much like they put a ...710 bottle in a ...709 box. Do some searches on google and look at the images. You have the right number, but the wrong bottle. Not sure how that could happen, but that's what it looks like. Is the oil feed on the new bottle in the centre, or offset to one side? (centre is ...709, offset is ...710).

It’s offset. I ordered the bottle last fall but never got around to installing it (hey it’s cold in Alaska 😛) It’s not a huge deal to me to eat the wrong part even if it wasn’t my fault. I just want to make sure I get the right one this time

Just updating in case it ever helps someone figure out which bottle is which. After 6 weeks of waiting finally received another 8M0075709 and this one is the correct fitting pointing to starboard. So I did get the wrong part in the factory box. Just my luck😂😂🤦‍♂️
