save time and water flushing

While flushing my Yammi F-115 yesterday it occured to me that if I could flush both ports at the same time I would cut the flushing time and water used in half. Thinkin bout using a "Y" type hose connector . Hook main end to supply hose, 1 leg to the ear muffs, and the other leg to the upper port. This way I could flush motor, while running, a total of 10 - 15 min total, instead of twice that time and water doing them individually. Anyone done this or know of any reason why not to do it? Input? Thanks

So if I'm reading this correctly, you normally flush with earmuffs (engine running) and also you flush the motor at the upper hose fitting (engine not running). It seems you're double flushing that motor. If you flush with earmuffs, I'm nearly certain you're actually doing the entire engine, including powerhead, all at once, and there's no need to flush the upper fitting (port) separately. Someone set us straight here?

If you have an engine that has a hose connect on it for flushing without the motor running, then you can do either/or when flushing, you do not need to do both... I have an older motor and it does not have the hose connect, so I flush on the muffs. I personnally think that I get a better flush that way, especially because I can get the engine to normal operating temp...

Geeze, I would worry more about cutting the amount of water to the impeller in half than anything alse by connecting a Y-fitting...

Been flushing my F-115 with the hose fitting with the engine running for a few years now. No problem yet. Flush maby 10 mins. at 700 RPM. If you dont run the engine, the water will never circulate thru the block as the thermostat is closed. If you are running it on the muffs, there is no reason to also go to the hose attachment. Would use muffs if I could but would be knee deep in mud. regards FRED
