So I was at my sons football game this morning. It was in the mid to upper 20's here in MN overnight for a short time. Chatting with one of the other player's dads who is a new owner of a BL 175 with the 3.0, he had no idea that he was supposed to winterize or drain the block. He pulled it out of the water at his cabin yesterday but ran up there after the game to at least drain the block. The funny thing is this talk of draining the block was like a foreign language to him even though he also has outboards. Anyway I hope I saved him a few thousand dollars and a nasty suprise next season.

Good job!! Hope he appreciated it, Tell him about Iboats?? Might be alot of reasons people sell their boats, They don't know whats wrong with it, so they sell it or it's too much for them to handle or want to handle.

You don't need to drain outboards as they are self drain. That's what probably got him. Thinking it was the same with I/O.

Yep that seemed to be the gist of it. Funny thing is he had just taken his outboard boat in to be winterized but not the I/O. Pulled the outboard pontoon to the shop and parked the I/0 in the garage for the year.
