Saw this boat at the side of the road, what is it??

Hi all

Just Yesterday I bought my first wreck of a boat. Saw it at the side of the road very cheap and thought it would make a good summer project but can anyone tell me what it is. Would like to get it back to original if possible so a pic to work off would be good.

Have no idea but I suspect there wasa reason it was by the side of the road. You're right about one thing though, It is a good project. Without a motor you going to end up at least 3-4k and probably more into that boat. Google fiberglassics. That is a great site for info on vintage glass boats.

Boat was cheap cause the interior is scrap. Hull looks good though and it just so happens my old man has a spare 40hp motor.... Just need to get to work replacing all the innards

that is a sharp looking hull, look at the back of the transom there should be some # stamped into the right side and post them, make sure the transom is solid before putting a motor on it

Not sure of the make (you should be able to look it up if you find the HIN number on the transom) - but I have to say, that's one of the prettiest "project" boats I've seen in a while! Beautiful lines. Good luck with it!

Cheers all, loved the look of it which is why I just took it straight away.

No HIN though have looked all over and can't see one. Doesn't look like someone has filled it over or anything either. Not unless they have put another gel coat on after anyways.

Have looked over most of the boat and can't see any other numbers. Is there anywhere else they are likely to be?

The hull HIN will be on the starboard side corner just below the rubrail. The deck HIN can be about anywhere, when I was at Wellcraft, we put them on the portside deck flange forward where it was hidden by the rubrail...

It looks like a Sidewinder clone. Much like one of their "Super" models. You may be able to put up to 150 HP on it, if it's rated for that.
