i've always had jet boats (car engines) i now have a 1996 johnson 115 it runs good and sounds good and looks very new for the age i don't know if its a crossflow,looper,60 degree or 90. after reading all these 2 cycle outboard problems and the money to fix them. i'm one who hears all kinds of motor sounds hopeing nothing is wrong. with the OMC company selling out do you think this is a good motor?
thanks

You need to remember, McGee, that we have over 43,000 members.

If we get 43 trouble posts on a hard day, that is one out of a thousand engines in trouble.

The other 999 are performing just fine. :)

If you have a crossflow 90 degree outboard, the trim switch is on the starboard side. On a 60 degree looper, the switch is on the port side. That is the easiest way to tell them apart without removing the motor covers.
