My engine was stallimng around 2000 RPM and just to try something I pressed the schrader valve and air with smoe moisture came out, I did this while running and RPM immediatly picked up. I pressed again and fuel came out. While doing this I turned the red lever a few times and can't rememeber the initial position. I really didn't even know it did anything. My boat is running much better since pressing this valve. My boat did sit for a little over a year so i thought it was just gummed up.

Does anyone know what the position of the red lever should be all the way CCW or all the way CW?

Any insight into my engine stalling problem would also be helpful, but that is on another thread of mine.

the only thing that it does, is squirt extra fuel to the carb/s when you activate it. On mine, I leave it in the ccw position. Chance are you might have had some trash in the high speed circuit/s. Here is something that I do. While on lake with cowling off and cover over carb/s, i will run the rpms up to 2500 to 3000. Take a clean rag and cover the front of carb/s intill it almost dies. I will repeat this two or three times. This will cause a much greater vacuum to the carb/s and can aid in removing small pieces of garbage thus allowing engine to get sufficient amount of fuel. Just a hint.

-Thanks for the advice i did the rag trick and my engine surged up in RPM when i released it to about 4200 RPM, it was running about 3800. It does slowly drop back to 3800 RPM. I can repeat the process with the same results. One carb inparticular seem to be the problem, the others just return me to the RPM I was at before i put the rag there.

-My manual which i now have says that all the way CCW is the "prime" position and not the "run" position. I still have some issue with the valve if i put it in "run" I can start and idle but not throttle up, if I ease it to the "prime" position (about half way) I can get on step and plane out, thats when i run at about 3800-4200 RPM. The boat will not idle or start if left in this "prime" position. I am thinking that some clogged or partly clogged high speed jets may cause this issue, putting it in "prime" gets some extra fuel to my working carbs allowing me to run better. Ant thoughts or advice?
