I am scrapping an old OMC I/O and don't want to sell the aluminum as steel. It has the electric motor and gear driven tilt and two trim cylinders that tilt the engine for trimming. The engine and outdrve is out of the boat and the outdrive is disconnected. My question: All the external bolts are removed yet I can not separate the drive from the block. What am I missing? The bellhousing with exhaust entrys will not come off and neither will the case behind it. I can loosen both yet they will jam after moving only a crack. There is an inspection plate just ahead of the bellows mount held with six screws. This chamber is filled with oil. Do I need to drain it and remove something there?

Ayuh,.... Havin' junked 1 of those before,... The splines are rusted/ seized in the coupler plate splines....

Pick it up, 'n drop it a few times, it'll come apart... ;)

There's guys around who'll want those trim/ tilt parts...

Yeah you are right I would deffinately be interested in the trim stuff. If you can PM me and we can discuss the price. As for the coupler I had the same problem and I had to use a big puller on mine.
