Scratches through Gel Coat, best way to repair?

Hard to avoid whacks, scratches and dings when docking to load and depart from any public launch, even with bumpers, slow speeds and care, wind, waves and such conditions it's hard to avoid these scratches and scrapes.. what's the best way to clean those up? sanding? new gel coat? thanks for specfics, and advice...

I Have the same questions.
In Boating World this month, they have a Spray Can of Gel Coat which you can order with your boats specific color. I wonder if something like that would work for the ones that don't buff out? I am trying to google it at the office.

Gel Coat repair kits for the deeper scratches . . .

Match And Patch Gelcoat Repair Kit - Evercoat 100668 - iboats

I usually fix the deeper scratches to avoid water penetration into the laminate. Minor scratches . . . I tend to just leave them.

I'll have to check out that spray can gelcoat . . . interesting idea

Doesnt get any cheaper and works well right out of the box...Just buy some gel in a can and tint...
