I have a 1998 Robalo 1920 CC w/ a Force 120. While cruising along at 5000rpm, the tach began running up to 5500, 6500 and then 7000+ rpm:^ I tapped the gauge a few times and the revs settled down to 5000 again. I never noticed a sound change with my engine and there was no change in acceleration. On the way home the tach "spiked" again but a few sharp taps cured it again. Any quick fixes for this?
Thanks,
John

Re: Screwy Tachometer

Faulty tach or failing voltage regulator/rectifier.

Re: Screwy Tachometer

check your wiring on the back of the tach, could be loose or corroded connections
