Sea Dorys - any info?

The old guy next door asked me for info on a west coast boat builder called "Sea Dorys". It sounds familiar to me, but an internet search turned up nothing. Does anyone know if they are still in business and can you give me a point of contact? My neighbor is a retired mechanical engineer who is working on a design for a diesel outboard (everyone needs a project) and had talked to someone at Sea Dorys about his idea in 1980 and wants to find them again. Any information would be appreciated. The snow is blowing around my pride and joy sitting under the canopy in the driveway while I dream of cruising the canyons of Lake Powell, steering around the striper boils. The new (to me) tow vehicle (99 Ford F250 super duty, powerstroke, extended cab, shortbed 4x4) waits impatiently for its first trip with the boat. Do I hear Baja calling?

C-dory owners have, I believe 3 different on-line owners groups. Run a search and you should pick them up.

Jinx

Re: Sea Dorys - any info?

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm sure my neighbor will appreciate it. The C-Dory web site gave a phone number for the factory that he needed. As far as a diesel outboard, I thought that Yanmar and a few others had that covered, but everyone needs a project to keep their mind sharp during their golden years. I just wish my mind was that sharp, and I've got a ways to go before retirement. Regarding Lake Powell, it took something like 20 years to fill originally during the wet years. I imagine it will take a quite a few years to recover from this drought, if it ever ends. One thing about it is that the lake is always changing as the water recedes. New beaches showing up all the time. You just can't get as far back in the side canyons. Makes the boat ramp at Halls Crossing kind of crowded having to share it with the Ferry.
