Re: Sea foam copy cat??
Berryman's Chem tool is NOT Sea Foam. Berryman's is a carb cleaner made years ago to get the varnish out of a carburetor (soaking) that had cruded up from stale gas. The aerosol came out to finish up the process that the soaking (in non aerosol) didn't fix. (my opinion, but I am a user)
Chem tool will take the paint off most anything it touches; SF won't.
Chem tool has no oil so using it in a 2 cycle can cause dry running; SF, made for 2 stroke marine engines, does.
Not sure the rubber and plastic parts in a marine engine can stand up to the chemicals if you added it to the fuel tank. And since it has no oil, it will slightly change your oil/gas ratio unlike SF which you can spray directly into the carb venturi for starting or troubleshooting.
I use CT periodically in my P/U and it cleans up the injectors but use SF in my OB fuel.
Now, why the disparity in price? Beats me other than popularity maintaining the price structure. CT has a lot more chemicals and I would assume it is more expensive to manufacture. Course you could do as some rednecks on here claim and mix your own.
