Please give your input(s) on using this as outlined sept 14, 2003 re: "do it yourself engine tip; a simple and cost effective way to de carbon an outboard" using seafoam engine tune.<br /> I just purchased a 1971 mercury o/b 20 hp that is running fine and wanted advice about running this stuff through as recommended.

Re: SEA FOAM "ENGINE TUNE"

I've never used Sea Foam brand, but I used to use Johnson/Evinrude Engine Tuner regularily when I had an outboard. It is excellent. Many mechanics use the stuff. It will keep the carbon deposits from freezing the piston rings in their grooves. The 2 cycle oils are better now, but you still get build up. I'd use it as recommended once a year to extend the life of your outboard.

Not a miracle, but seafoam is excellent as a cleaner and fuel stabilizer.
